Since 1989, the Brick Industry Association has sponsored one of the country’s most prestigious architectural award programs – the Brick in Architecture Awards. As the only national association to represent both manufacturers and distributors, BIA is the authority in the clay brick industry. As such, the Brick in Architecture Awards has become the nation’s premiere architectural award featuring clay brick.
This year we are proud to say that we were awarded 4 different honors from the BIA Awards. In the next few coming posts, we are going to highlight and discuss all of our award-winning projects.
One of two Best In Class winners, the Shelbyville Fire Station #2 was deemed the Best in Class in the Municipal/Government category. Axis Architecture & Interiors did a phenomenal job designing this fire house, located at 821 E Michigan Road in Shelbyville, Indiana. A combination effort from Runnebohm Construction and Garmong Construction Services helped build this structure while Joe Miller Masonry laid the Spektra Pewter brick with a Charcoal face, a Pine Hall Brick product.
